a new windspeed sensor was only installed halfway through the year...
until then it only had two cones... not three...
in strong wind that meant that it often got stuck...
unable to turn with the wind.

The odd zero pressure readings are probably due to a transmission breakdown...
we have seen odd "flat spots" on the graphs...
and the batteries were renewed during the year!!

Really interesting data. I was particularly taken with the stat that in 2013 there were 174 days with rain and only 79 in 2012, where the overall rainfall was higher.
Superb pics to illustrate. This must have taken ages to put together. Bravo.
If only you had a crystal ball to predict for 2014...

The really heavy rain in March of 2012 was what made the difference...
it was the first time we'd seen the meadow flooded.
But that wasn't onto waterlogged soil and went quite quickly, even though the year was cooler.
Last year it just seemed to rain...
and rain...
and rain...
and rain....
even though we recorded a much higher maximum temperature...
We didn't get growing until much later... and we've lost over half of our main-crop spuds because it was too wet in the ground to lift them...
so slugs, eel worm, millipedes and rot got to them.
I am going to try various methods of dehydrating prepared spud...
the book says grated... but I am going to try some as mash, as well... as for fruit leathers and purees.
They certainly won't keep!!
But what ever I do, we will be having mash with everything... no large bakers will be able to be kept....
And the French don't sell proppa bakin' spuds...
their market spuds are ALL waxy, not grainy...
even if they are for "four"!
As for the post, I was at it for most of the afternoon... but what took the longest was firstly choosing a picture from the month of the records...
and then fitting the pictures into the table layout...
in "Blodga", you can't see the frames!!

I admire your hard work in compiling the data and finding lovely photos to match.
Your summary confirms my hunch that last year was a bit warmer and less wet than the year before. Most of our holidays in 2012 were a washout, and last year looked like it was going to turn out the same. Then the summer was good, once it got started around the end of June!
After a peculiarly mild start, I wonder what 2014 will bring. Please let it be not more rain, rain and even more rain!
